#WIT Lipstick Review: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

Lipstick is probably my favourite thing in makeup, and I tend to gravitate towards lipsticks when it comes to trying out a new brand or if there is a makeup sale going on. That's why I've accumulated way too many lipsticks so I've decided to share my thoughts on different brands and formulas of lipsticks rather than leaving them rot on my makeup vanity.
Let's begin this #WIT lipstick review with one of my old favourite back when I started collecting makeup, which is the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter.

The Revlon lip butters comes in around 20 shades, and on their site it's described as buttery balm, shiny colour, also it contains hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter to boost up the lip's moisture by 156%.

Pigmentation:
Sheer - medium

Finishing:
Shiny like a lip gloss, which can get a bit sticky with hair

Texture:
Extremely buttery and smooth
Colours with glitters can feel a tiny bit rough

Longevity:
Not long at all since it's very balmy and will come off easily

Pros
  • Moisturizing (can pass without priming with lip balm)
  • Natural looking because of its balmy finish
  • Quite pigmented comparing to tinted lip balm
  • Large range of colours
Cons
  • Doesn't last at all
  • Glitters are a bit too chunky

Berry Smoothie 050
Tutti Frutti 015
 Cherry Tart 070

Unfortunately I've read somewhere online saying that Revlon has decided to discontinue the lip butters in Australia which is just a shame :(
Here's the link of the news:
http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/forums/industry-watch/sad-news-dot-dot-dot-revlon-lip-butters-have-been-discontinued

The Revlon lip butters are basically pigmented tinted lip balm, and if you're someone who doesn't want to wear such bold lipsticks but still want to experiment with colours, give these a go. I usually wear the more natural colours on days I don't wear any eye makeup or much makeup in general because it brings life back to my face. Peach Parfait is probably my favourite one out of all because it's the most versatile colour that I can with or without makeup, and it's already my second tube (this says something about someone who has over 60 lipsticks). I love the sheer - medium pigmented because it gives a transparent look to your lips, so it doesn't look like you got heavy makeup on and you will look more approachable.

Haul-lo: Overseas Cosmetic Part 1 (Hong Kong)

I seriously am the worst blogger ever hahaha, it seriously has nearly been a year since I last wrote blogpost. Well, I'm still the same old self who's obsessed with makeup and recently I've just came back from my holiday in Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore, and yes my bank account has significantly gone done but it's all worth it! So here's to part one of all the makeup I got while I was in Hong Kong.

I stayed in Hong Kong majority of my vacation since it is kinda my hometown and the main reason we went back was for my grandpa's 80th birthday. I went back at the wrong time of the year, it was extremely humid and hot, I would not survive without air con. My makeup was melting off as I was putting it on, #hklyf, that's why I wasn't in the mood to put on makeup and just kept everything minimal.
Keep in mind that all the prices listed are in Hong Kong dollars
Everything I got while I was overseas (HK, Korea, Singapore)
This also includes sovenirs and friends' request

Tom Ford quad (orchard haze) [$570]

Tom Ford was definitely a splurge for me, but you really do get your money worth! They are absolutely amazing and great quality. As you can see this time when I went back to HK, my main spending were in the higher end brand, that's because I realised that I have enough of drugstore brands and should really venture out to the more luxurious brand. In a way I'm growing up hahahaha
Stay tuned for the next two parts of my overseas haul :)

Haul-lo: 3ce (stylenanda) cosmetic

Around two months back, me and some friends decided to make a big purchase on stylenanda, since it is $20 flat rate shipping. Stylenanda is a Korean fashion brand and 3ce (3 concept eyes) is their cosmetic line, also Park Sora models for them. I kept hearing really good reviews on their makeup since this year, and especially with Hong Kong beauty bloggers
They have a wide range of different lip products and also many vibrant and neutral colors, and as a lipstick lover, it was really hard to restrict myself. Their black simple and sleek packaging really draws you in as well.
Everything was sealed with a sticker, which you know it's brand new

Fresh Aqua Mist $4.40

Lip Color 406 Milky Tangerine $19.71

Lip Marker #Red $16.51

All the prices are in USD
